Occultation Observation (Status: published)
Occultation Date : 2025-11-22 Star Designation : UCAC4 578-013417 Object Designation : (49100) 1998 RT74 Observation Result : O+ Observer(s) : Stefan Meister Start Observation UT1 : 23:35:38 Disappearance UT2 : 23:36:00.136 +/- 0.016 Reappearance UT3 : 23:36:00.268 +/- 0.016 End Observation UT4 : 23:36:23 Duration [sec] : 0.13 Site Name : Buelach Country Code : CH Observation Method : VID Time Source : GPS Instrument/Optics : M500 Record last modified : 2026-03-22 11:53:44 Source / Reference : SODIS (account required) Observer Comments : Observer comment: "Two drops! First was a single point event (not analysed) and the second a two point event to about the same level (analysed here). Total duration from the 1st to the 2nd event is just a bit shorter than the total predicted maximum time." Analyst (FC) comment: "2 drops. They appear clear, but only the second one passes the AOTA2B test as possible, and only marginally, highly dependent on curve normalization. Also, there is a clear disturbance in the star and comparison just before the occultation events. The most probable explanation is a graze event with Fresnel effects, but the Fresnel tool doesn't work in my system now. However, a turbulence effect can't be discarded, in my opinion. I marked it as "No astrometry AOTA2B = possible""
