Occultation Observation (Status: published)
Occultation Date : 2023-08-07 Star Designation : TYC 1153-00782-1 Object Designation : (1051) Merope Observation Result : O+ Observer(s) : William Stewart Start Observation UT1 : 01:14:06 Disappearance UT2 : 01:15:6.930 +/- 0.04 Reappearance UT3 : 01:15:7.490 +/- 0.04 End Observation UT4 : 01:16:01 Duration [sec] : 0.56 Site Name : Nantwich Country Code : GB Observation Method : VID Time Source : GPS Instrument/Optics : M279 Record last modified : 2023-09-21 22:52:25 Source / Reference : SODIS (account required) Observer Comments : This certainly appears to be a grazing occultation - the star definitely dims but does not disappear from view until near the end of the occultation. Given the short integration time, there are only x2 other stars visible in the FOV, albeit at the edges: neither of these show a dimming. So if this was a passing cloud, it didn't affect them.- A graze is indicated by DH.
