Occultation Observation (Status: review in progress !)
Occultation Date : 2025-01-16 Star Designation : UCAC4 644-038283 Object Designation : (709) Fringilla Observation Result : O+ Observer(s) : Björn Kattentidt Start Observation UT1 : 17:52:51 Disappearance UT2 : 17:54:46.310 +/- 0.017 Reappearance UT3 : 17:54:52.519 +/- 0.017 End Observation UT4 : 17:55:55 Duration [sec] : 6.21 Site Name : Neutraubling Country Code : DE Observation Method : VID Time Source : GPS Instrument/Optics : M280 Record last modified : 2025-01-17 21:28:12 Source / Reference : SODIS (account required) Observer Comments : Double star occultation detected: D read from Tangra, d and R automatical from PyOTE, r read from Tangra. Based on UCAC4 V magnitudes the asteroid had 13,45mag, the star components have 14,36mag and 13,71mag which is 13,23mag combined. Therefore the overall drop was 0,87mag. The combined magnitude was 12,58mag. Reference stars for magnitude calculation were UCAC4 644-038293, 644-038216 and 644-038231 in this order. Duration of first component was 6,59sec, and second component had 6,21sec. Based on this individual durations and the predicted duration of 7,2sec. can be derived that the line between the stars has a deviation by 6° or 42° compared to moving direction of the asteroid. The angular distance of the stars is 32mas (6°) or 48mas (42°).
